President's Welcome
Welcome to the Melton Model Railway Club web site and I hope you take the next stage further and come and check us out in person.
Although we have been only been together for 18 months at time of writing, we have achieved a lot including formalising as a group, moving into two clubrooms, having no layout to ownership of 3 layouts under construction in 3 scales and development of the first Australian standard Freemo modules which we are taking a leading hand in, which will eventually work in with modules all over Australia as happens overseas now.
The Hobby of Model Railroading or Railways – whatever suits you – has to be one of the worlds best if not the best. You can dabble with and build skills in Wood, Metal, Electrical, Plastic Building, Scratch building, Scenery Building, Operating trains as simply or as complex a manner as you like, relive the past or model the present, build something you grew up with in a nostalgic mode or something you have never seen from another country and make a railway as a large empire or as a small diorama as you want... and you can have a great time doing it!
We all start in this hobby somewhere and a club is a good way to quickly access information and to assist you to get started or just have a good time with like company... again what you do is up to you!
We look forward to meeting you and what you can also offer to the hobby, what I truly believe is the worlds greatest hobby, as we try to promote it through the community of Melton and beyond...
